Creating new habits

Creating new habits is often overcomplicated, but it doesn’t have to be.

New research has found that it takes, on average, 66 days to form a new habit – not the 21 days that people used to talk about.

66 days may seem like a long time, but we have a simple tip to make habit building easier.

The best way to build a new habit is by tying it to an existing habit.

For example, if your new habit is drinking more water, try having a big glass of water while you make your morning cup of tea or coffee.

Or if meal prep is your new habit, try starting with washing and cutting your vegetables as soon as you bring them home from the grocery store.

Habit stacking makes it more likely that you will stick to your new habit because you are already performing your existing habit.

What is a habit that you want to start doing? What habit do you already have that you could tie your new habit to?
